Brook Browning, MPT is originally from Hurricane, WV. Brook earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from West Virginia University in 2002, graduating summa cum laude and is a University Honors Scholar. Brook has experience in multiple physical therapy settings including acute care services, inpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient neurologic services and outpatient orthopedic services. Her primary interest is in women's health specialization services including incontinence, pelvic pain and musculoskeletal changes related to pregnancy. She also has furthered her education to include treating male pelvic pain and incontinence. She is a participant in the Triangle Women's Health Study group, a conglomerate of physical therapists who specialize in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. She has also served as a guest speaker for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and other local support groups and wellness programs. Brook strives to provide the best care possible to each and every patient. Her philosophy is to treat every patient as if they are her family member. She is dedicated to improving the quality of life in women of the Fayetteville community and beyond.
Andrew was brought up in southern Maryland but found his way to North Carolina prior to receiving his Bachelors in Biology at NC State University. He went on to attend Western Carolina University where he graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2012. While earning his physical therapy education he performed the duties of a graduate assistant and spent time in the biomechanics lab. Andrew contributed to research to examine the relationship between hip musculature and foot mechanics. As a therapist his interest are with the use of hands on techniques and he plans to go on to specialize in manual therapy for the treatment of orthopedic injuries.
Kara Minchener is originally from Jamestown, NY. She received her Bachelor’s in Health Science from Daemen College. In 2010, she completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree. While earning her Doctorate Degree, she worked as a graduate anatomy lab teaching assistant. Kara is excited to start her Physical Therapy career at Activcare Physical Therapy. She plans to continue to pursue further specialty training for Vestibular/Neurological Rehabilitation. She enjoys the challenges of physical therapy and providing patients with excellent patient care.
Krista Osborne, PT, DPT is originally from Portland, OR. In 2009, she received her Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Gonzaga University in 2009. She completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Emory University in 2012. Krista has performed research in both gait biomechanics and peripheral nerve injury. She has experience in neurology, pediatrics and acute care and has taken advanced coursework on the treatment of sports injuries. She plans to specialize in the rehabilitation of patients with neurological conditions.
Brittany grew up in Burlington, NC. She graduated from Meredith College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and from East Carolina University in 2011 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Brittany is trained in the Graston Technique®, a technique using stainless steel instruments to assist in the treatment of soft tissue abnormalities for chronic, acute and post-surgical populations. She plans to continue her training in the Graston Technique® as well as in other manual therapy skills. Brittany enjoys working with a wide variety of patients of all ages. She has a passion for improving the quality of life of each individual patient by promoting a healthy lifestyle and providing a personalized treatment plan that empowers them to take an active role in their rehabilitation process.
Lee is originally from Charlotte, NC. He graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry from North Carolina State University in 2004 and worked as a scientist for five years before going back to graduate school for physical therapy. Lee received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Carolina University in 2012, where he earned a 4.0 GPA, and received the "Student Academic Award" as well as the "Outstanding Research Award". Lee's specialized coursework included advanced concepts in lower extremity evaluation, sports physical therapy, as well as spine and manual therapy. During his time at East Carolina, Lee served as a graduate assistant in the Human Movement Laboratory where he assisted with the running assessment clinic for injured runners and investigated running biomechanics as it relates to flexibility and gender. Lee has experience in many clinical settings and has worked with professional athletes as he served as the game-day assistant to the Head Athletic Trainer for the Carolina Hurricanes during the 2011-2012 seasons. Lee strives to give every patient the respect and attention they deserve and to provide top-quality, individualized care for each patient he serves.
Tonya Sykes joined Activcare Physical Therapy's Fayetteville Robeson Clinic as our Administration Manager. Tonys is a native of Fayetteville and brings to Activcare six years of direct experience in physical therapy rehab and a total of 11 years in medical office administration. She assists patients at the front desk and patients with financial responsibilities, insurance eligibility, obtaining pre-authorizations for required services and schedule appointments. She is a wonderful addition to the team and always approaches each day with a smile. The patients and staff truly appreciate her hard work and positive attitude. She certainly makes our patients' visits an enjoyable experience.
Geneyta joined Activcare Physical Therapy's Fayetteville Robeson Clinic as the Front Desk/Patient Relations Coordinator. Geneyta is a native of Detroit, MI. She moved to Georgia in 2001 where she earned her diploma in Medical Assisting in 2007. She began working the clerical aspect of healthcare at age 16. Her clerical experience in healthcare includes the fields of Endocrinology, Hospice, and Radiology. She believes that she is a living testimonial of the benefits of physical therapy, being a patient of therapy herself in 2005 following a motor vehicle accident. Geneyta is currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics. Geneyta has a profound respect for medical professionals, both clinical and clerical.
